Established in January 2014, Namo Ewaste Management Limited is a company that collects, disposes and recycles e-waste and provides comprehensive services for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment such as air conditioners, refrigerators, laptops, cell phones, washing machines, fans, etc.
The company specialises in processing large quantities of electrical and electronic waste. It is able to extract all components of an electrical appliance, including precious and semi-precious metals such as copper, aluminium, iron, etc. Electrical and electronic equipment comprises many complex materials such as batteries, plastics, glass, ferrous and non-ferrous metals. These materials need to be carefully processed to avoid the release of harmful chemicals into the environment.
The company has set up collection centres at various locations in India to assist it in collecting e-waste for EPR. The company reaches out to its target audience for e-waste procurement through various initiatives and marketing strategies like participating in various events and exhibitions, conducting awareness campaigns in schools, media coverage like Clean India Journal, Economic Times, Dainik Bhasker, lectures like Jitopreneurs, London etc. After sourcing and processing the e-waste, they also issue a recycling certificate/disassembly certificate or a green certificate (for manufacturers who have to fulfil their obligation under the e-waste management rules), which is approved by the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) and Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
